State Checkers to
Play at Landrum
\ The annual tournament of the
/South Carolina checker associa
tion will be held on Wednesday at
Landrum. Play will start at about
10 a. m.
The state checker champion, E.
E. Styles, of Travelers Rest,, will
defend his championship and Fred
Smith of Pauline, runner-up last
year, will participate in the tour
nament.
The president of the association
is Frank Raysor of Greenville.
Checker enthusiasts from over
this section will take part in the
matches—Spartanburg Herald.
Kiwanis Tuesday
The Tryon Kiwanis Club will
meet on Tuesday at Edgewood Inn
Vt 1 p. m. R. L. McNeely in charge
of the program. Seth M. Vining
will present the current events.

Lake Lanier Inn will give a
dance on Friday evening at the inn
