C., SATURDAY, AUG. 17, 1935 Est. 1-31-28 Rotary Governor Gives Inspiring Address Here Governor George Ivy of Char lotte, head of the 58th Rotary International district covering all of South Carolina and part of North Carolina gave an inspiring address at the Tryon Rotary club on Friday at 1 p. in., at the club’s luncheon held at Lake Lanier Inn. He outlined the ideals and prin ciples of Rotary which seeks the cultivation of friendships that en ables Rotarians to be of service to one another; ideals that promote better business and professional standards, ideals that create a love of community service which works as a leavening farce for good in all worthy community organiza tions alnd activities; principles that hold Rotary clubs together all over the world and foster a spirit of universal brotherhood that at has aided in avoiding serious Conflicts and has pormoted goodwill <a;nd fair trade. He also spoke of the personal inspirations he has received in meeting Rotarians from all parts of the world, men who have common ideals of service to their fellowman. Dies at 107 Ralph Henderson of Tryon re ceived a message Friday announc ing the death in Saxon, Missouri, of his grandfather, George Pack, who was 93 years old when he left Polk county in 1921. Large Crowd Attends Dance at Lake Lanier A large crowd, many of them from nearby cities attended the moonlight dance a<t Lake Lanier Inn on Friday evening. It was_ probably the largest crowd that ever attended a dance at Lake Lanier Inn. Approximately 175 people enjoyed the occasion. Luke Chaney’s orchestra furnished the music Another dance is scheduled for August 30.
