C., has been elected to teach English and histdvy in the Tryon high school for the 1935-36 ses sion to succeed Miss Louise Hayes. Miss Randle is a graduate of Win throp college. She has completed enough graduate work for an M. A. Degree, having taken special work at Winthrop college, N. C. C. W., and Asheville Normal. She has 12 years’ experience, having taught in the high schools of Ashe ville, New Bern, Canton, Andrews, end Monroe, in the State olf North Carolina. Miss Randall has the very best recommendations from each school in which she has taugh. Trout Fishing Season JOoses on August, 31st R. B. Williams, Polk county game protector, states that he wishes to inform the fishermen that the season for trout fishing closes on Saturday, August 3Lst. Brotherhood Meets The Wesley Brotherhood will meet on Thursday evening at the Tryon Methodist church at 7 o’clock. The ladies society will furnish the supper. Baseball Trials to Begin Monday, September 9th Spartanburg, S. C.—The site of the fall trial camp operated in the Piedmont Region by one of the clubs in the World Champion St. Louis Ctardinlal organization has been changed this year from Greensboro, N. C., to Spartanburg, S. C., and the operating club will be the Rochester Club of the In ternational League. The trials will be conducted at Duncan Park in Spartanburg be ginning at 9 a. m., Monday, Sep tember 9, and continuing through the -week. The camp will be open to any player between the ages of seventeen and twenty-three, who believes he has the acuity to play b?„seball in organized profession al leagues. Those players who in the opinion of a group of scouts have ability to advance in the ranks of professional ball will be offered contracts for the 1936 season. Lankford Reunion The Lankford annual family re union will be held on Sunday, August 25, at Harmon Field. Re latives from North and South Carolina will unite in a big basket dinner. All friends are cordially invited to* bring their baskets and join them.
