During Sunday, Monday and Tues day 4.45 inches of rain fell. But in Charleston, S. C., more than six inches fell in less time than that and children went in swimming in the street. Mr. and Mrs. Sam J. McClure sind niece, Gwendolyn Turner, of Johnson City, Tenn., have return ed from a trip to New (Means, La., and points in Texas. J. H. Stackhouse and son, Char les, arrived home Thursday eve ning from Clio, S. C., for a visit. They have as their guest, Pete Mc- Cormick, also of Clio.
