TO MEET WITH THE
MISSES AVANT
The September meeting of the
Woman’s Auxiliary of the Church
of the Holy Cross will be held at
the home of the Misses Avant on
Mondav afternoon, September 2nd,
at 3:30. Miss R. E. Blair, vice
president of the second district
will address the meeting.
Body of missing farmer found
near his home. John Richardson
is held pending probe into Mc-
Kinney case. The body of I. M.
McKinney, 50-year-old farmer of
the Jonas Ridge section of Burke
county, which had been missing
since August 4, was found in a
shallow grave early Thursday
by ?, searching party.
Jr John Richardson, 35, also a
farmer of the Jonas Ridge section,
is being held here by officers in
connection with the case pending
further investigaiton. —,Asheville
