Long echoed thru the capital tonight along with uni versal condemnation of his assassi nation. —Asheville Citizefi. Unmasked Bandits Rob Mars Hill Bank Mars Hill, Sept. 10.—Six un masked bandits sprayed the busi ness buildings along the main street of this college town this af ternoon with sub-machine gun fire and shot a 17-year-old col lege girl as they fled in an auto mobile p ( fter holding up and rob bing the Mars Hill branch of the Citizens Bank of Marshall. They escaped with approximately $l,lOO. Pretty Dorothy Sanderlin, 17- year-old freshman at Mairs Hill college, stepped into the path of a bullet from the machine gun of the six bandits .who robbed the bank at Mars Hill yesterday and last night her condition was “very serious” at Aston Park hospital here. Her father, W. T. Sanderlin, prominent New Bern lumberman, said attending physicians told him she was suffering from a wound from a bullet which entered her stomach, ranged slightly down ward and lodged in the muscles of her abdomen. —Asheville Citizen.
