C„ THURSDAY, SEPT. 12, '935 Est. 1-31-28 Cooper’s Gap Health House Resumes Meeting Vj The Cooper Gap Heath House / will resume its regular meetings on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. An interesting program is being arranged. Dwight Smith To Speak on Caesar Dwight Smith, retired Tryon ac tor, will be on the radio on Sunday afternoon at 4:15 on Station WWNC, Asheville, and will give Mark Anthony’s oration on the ass- ssination of Julius Caesar, the Roman dictator. LYNN SCHOOL * OPENS ON 16TH R. A. Wilson, principal of the Lynn grammar school, states that the school will open on Monday, September 16th. A large enroll ment is expected. The fsculty this year will con sist of the following teachers: Fifth and sixth grades—R. A. Wilson, principal. Third and fourth grades—Miss Mary McFarland. First and second grades Mrs. Lala Ridings. POLK COUNTY APPLE SHOW PREMIUS LIST CLASS A—Best three trays of any one of the following varieties: Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Stayman, Winesaips, and any one of the other variety. (Red Delicious or Stayman does not include the Starking or other red strains of Delicious and Stayman.) First, $2.00; second, $1.00; third, 50 cents. CLASS B- —Best single tray of the following: Red Delicious, Gol den Delicious, Stayman, Winesap, and any one other variety. (Red Delicious or Stayman does not in clude the Starking or other red strains of Delicious and Stayman.) First. $1.00; second, 50 cents; third 25 cents. CLASS C—Best Plate (Five Apples) : Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Stayman, Winesaps, Grimes Golden, King David, Rome Beauty, Ben Davis, Mammouth Black Twig, and any one of the other varieties. First, 50 cents; second, 25 cents. CLASS D—Best plate collection of not less than 10 varieties. First, $2.00; second, $1.00; third, 50 cents. CLASS E— Best commercial display. First, blue ribbon; second, red ribbon; third, yellPw ribbon. Edward R. Dyer, Jr., of China, who has been visiting his grand parents, Rev. and Mrs. Rolla Dyer, has gone to Charlottesville to at tend the University of Virginia.
