Blackwell, of Green Creek, were married on August 24.—Asheville Citizen. The bride won first place a few years ago in Polk County’s 4-H club health contest and took first place in the state for 4-H club work. NEWS LEADS Andrews, Sept. 22.—Five per sons, including a father and three of his children, were killed and two persons were injured when an automobile ran off a mountain road and plunged down a 200-foot preci pice near here this afternoon. Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ire "vsind, Sept. 22.—The trans-atlantic x«olo flight of Felix Waitkus, 28- year-old Wisconsin aviator, ended tqday in a smashup in a rough field but the flier himself was un injured. Fog-bound and buffeted by storms along the Irish coast, Waitkus, who had hoped to fly non-stop from New York to Kaunas, Lithuania, brought his white and orange plane down in a hazardous landing. Clay Baxter, 35, of Newport, Tenn., who is accused of being one of the five men who robbed the Mars Hill branch of the Citizens Bank of Marshall on September 10, was arrested early yesterday at Morristown, Tenn., by a group of Morristown policemen headed by Chief Frank Richardson. Accidentally Killed While Hunting Landrum, Sept. 22. Funeral services for John W. Levister, 34, fatally wounded while hunting in upper Greenville county Saturday, were held Sunday afternoon at the Cool Springs Baptist church, Fair field county, conducted by the Rev. Yarborough. Interment followed in the churchyard. An inquest into the shooting will be held Tuesday afternoon at Pet ty’s funeral home in Gowansville. Levister was rushed to St. Luke’9 hospital in Tryon where he died late Saturday. A native of Chester county, Levister had made his home here for about four years. He is sur vived by his widow who before her marriage was Miss Arkansas Wal ker of Landrum; two young sons, Billie and Bobby, and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Levister, of Ledds. Four brothers and six sisters also survive.— Spartanburg Heraid. Forestry Meeting In Polk Tuesday R. W. Graeber, state forester, will come to Polk county on Tues day to hold a forestry meeting in Green Creek at the W. S. Green plantation, formerly the old T. Ellis Walker place. The meeting will be held at 10 a. m., starting from the mail box and going into the forest for demonstrations. County Agent J. A Wilson will assist Mr. Graeber. Anyone in terested is urged to attend this meeting.
