Rogers of Tryon will attend the banquet and g lance to be given tonight at Grove JPPark Inn in Asheville for prom inent guests all over the nation. The Asheville Citizen tctiay re ports the following features scheduled for the occasion: •‘Frances Perkins, Secretary of Labor of the United States, is scheduled to arrive in Asheville by train this morning from Washing ton. She will be the principal speaker at a banquet tonight at Grove Park Inn given by the In ternational Association of Indus trial Accident Boards and Com missions. “Dr. Frank Graham, president off the University of North Caro lina, and Governor Ehringhaus also are on the banquet program tonight. The toastmaster will be J. Dewey Dorsett, of Raleigh, president of the international or ganization. The response to the •fcldress of welcome will be made Joseph A. Parks, of Boston, chairman of the department of in dustrial accidents of Massachu setts.” Tryon Methodist Revival Services (Monday’s Program) 7:00 P. Ehringhaus Prolaims Parent-Teacher Week Raleigh, Sept. 29. Governor Ehringhaus today issued a procla mation calling upon the people of North Carolina to give their “Most careful and sympathetic attention” to r .he State Parent-Teacher asso ciation's membership drive, to be launched from October 15 to November 15. The texts of the statement fol lows : “To the people of North Caro lina: “Having been informed that Oc tober 15 to November 15 has been set aside as the period in which an effort will be made to extend the membership of the Parent-Teacher association in North Carolina, I am glad to bring this to the attention of our people, along with the sug gestion that they give the most careful and sympathetic attention to this activity. The assoqjaion busies itself primaxilv with th«* promotion of educational opportu nity fo»r our children, and mem bership in the association is com mitted to the ideal of educational improvement. I am sure that our people will give it the support which it deserves.” Charlotte Observer. Meeting Tuesday A mass meeting to discuss plans for entertaining forty officials of prominent travel agencies, will be held on Tuesday night at 7:30 at Missildine’s Hall. Everybody in vited.
