string catcher of fthe Chicago
Cubs, is a resident of Saluda and
was a member of the Asheville
team for a brief time in 1932.
Callled “Rebel” by his team
mates on account of his willingness
to defend the Confederate cause
in any argument, Stephenson is
considered a bright prospect. While
a Tourist, he engaged in a fist
fight with Manager Joe Guyon and
