Every dog has his day but a" dog with a broken tail has a week-end. So said C. M. Howes at a public meeting a few days ago. During the last week-end a num ber of interesting things took place. S .A. Slack’s automobile which was parked across the stireec in front of Ballenger’s was hit by an out-of-town car. A tramp cartoonist airivw ^ the editor’s home Sunday evening looking for work or something to cat until he could get to the next town. Said he w?6 kicked off the Atlanta Georgian. Had enough money to get to Spartanburg, and had walked a;ll the way to Tryon. He had been all over the United States but had never seen any thing like the Tryon Daily Bulle tin. ‘Said he had'worked on same paper with Ripley, “Believe It Or Not.” Henry Shankle, former Bulletin printer’s devil, seems to be making good in Portland, Oregon. He has started a monthly Bulletin there for the District Epworth League. Henry is the editor, a,nd writes in teresting news. The Will Rogers memorial pro gram over the radio Saturday evening was very interesting. Some big shots were on the program. One of the most thrilling was the voice of Ladv Aster from England who joined the other noted in pay ing tribute to Will. No one here knew Lady Astor was to be on the procram and her sister, Mrs. Lefty Flynn, was pleasantly, sur prised in Tryon. More people are bringing their prescriptions here every day.
