MARCH 3, 1879 FOOTBALL With Tryon-Saluda leading 7-6 and two minutes to play, the Hail Fletcher team came beck to score . a touchdown over the lighter local ) team and win 13-7 Friday after noon at Harmon Field. Both teams played excellent football with the lines smashing into practically ev ery play. Outstanding on defense for Tryon-Saluda. were Kerhulas and McGeachy. Shields played a great game of backing up the line. The first score came when Hall Fletcher drove over Tryon’s guard and then skirted end. Try on scored in the fourth quarter with Staton making all points. Hall Fletcher made the final score in a lateral around left end. AT ROTARY The Tryon Rotary club had an opehi forum meeting on Friday noon at Oak Hall, at which time the members discussed the possi bilities of getting a County Court jfor Polk County. M. R. McCown was appointed to go before the Kiwanis club to get its opinion on the question. PRIZE DRAWING AT 4:30 TODAY The second drawing of the mer chants trade event will be held this afternoon at 4::30 opposite the Town Hall on the vacant lot $30 in cash will be given away to the holders of lucky tickets. $20 to first ticket drawn and $10 to second ticket holder.
