Fisher, who died Thurs day afternoon, will be held Satur day afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the First Baptist church with the following ministers officiating: Dr. E. E. Bomar, Rev. L. J. Keels, Rev. C. P. Burnett, Rev. L. R. Akers, Jir. Interment in Tryon cemetery. The pallbearers will be formed from the Tryon Fire Department of whi^h the deceased’s son, Jim Fisher, is chief. In recognition of his services to the town, county and state the business houses of Tryon will close their doors at 2:30 during the time of funeral services. Town to Improve Roads and Streets At a special meeting of the Tryon Town Commissioners held on Thursday, January 9, the Com missioners authorized Town Man age C. H. Helms to go to Salis bury and purchase an entirely new read scraper and to make some kind of deal either for a new or rebuilt rock crusher in order to start repairing the streets of Try on by Monday, January 13. The manufacturers have assured the Town officials that they can deliver the machinery Monday. The roads all over Tryon are in a very bad condition on account of the recent snow and heavy rains. The rock crusher and scraper are practical ly worn out and cannot do the work. The town officials wish to assure -Continued on Bf^k Pap* Dr. Sewall Lectures At The Lanier Club A very forceful and able ad dress was given by D>r. Charles G. Sewall on Thursday afternoon at the Lanier library. Dr. Sewall had for the subject of his address “The Limits of Liberty.” Prior to the address the presi dent, Mrs. C. P. Rogers, welcomed ten new members into the organ ization. During the social hour following the lecture, tea was served in the Holden reading room with Mrs. E. E. Missildine and Mrs. H. H. Par melee poring tea. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. S. T. Cra po, Mrs. M. O. Kelly and Mrs. Eric Lubeck.
