Hill Dies A telegram to the Tryon Daily Bulletin today stated— KINGS MOUNTAIN NCAR 827A JAN 27 A L HILL DIED SUDDENLY HERE THIS MORNING A L HILL JR Hundreds of friends throughout the county will regret the passing of this popular man who was the sheriff of Polk county for eight years and prominent in Tryon bus iness affairs. The deceased was af fectionateely known by thousands as “Link” Hill. He left the county about ten years ago and for a time made his home at Burlington, N. C. until a few years ago. Funeral plans were not known here at time of going to press. Besides his widow he is surviv ed by two children, Dr. A. L. Hill, Jr., and Mrs. James Carrington (Josephine). Drama Fortnightly The Drama Fortnightly will pre sent “Three Cornered Moon” at the Parish House on Wednesday and Thursday of this week with a cast composed of Alec Arledge, Gaston Russell, Mrs. E. Pue-Wil liams, Miss Ferdinande Poppe, Robt. Millikin, Miss Atine Freeman Robert Burnett, and Miss Dorothy Smith and Earl Tisdale. U. S. Senate overrode the Pres ident’s veto of the bonus today by a vote of 76 to 19. Mrs. Edmund H. Lewis of Syra cuse, N. Y. is visiting her sister, Mrs. Chas. G. Sewall.
