MARCH 3, 1879 Mrs. J. T. Camp Passes Mrs. J. T. Camp, 66, Polk coun ty’s most prominent farm woman, died Sunday morning about 10 o’clock from heart trouble at her home, Sleepy Hollow, in Green Creek township. Funeral arrangements are pend ing the arrival of several children from distant points. Mrs. Camp was well-known for her progressive interest in all affairs for the betterment of Polk county and life on the farm. She was a director of the Farmers Federation at Tryon and a leader in community work. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Millner Jones, pioneer Episcopal mission ary for the mountain section who came to Tryon from Texas when Mrs. Camp, was a little girl. The deceased is survived by her husband and eight children. On the Radio Nelson Eddy will sing tonight over WEAF, NBC stations on the Firestone program at 9:30, and al so Margaret Speaks. At 9:30 Grace Moore will sing. Chicago, Feb. 9. — A stinging wind howled across Middle Ameri ca today, toppling temperatures far below the zero mark and handi capping efforts to dig out from under the most paralyzing blizzard of the century. Some rail lines were drifted shut. A dozen trains were snow bound. Many others, moving behind snow plows, were as much as eight hours late. A number of railroad and bus schedules were cancelled.
