Barclay, di rector of activities of the Boy Scouts of America with headquar ters in New York City, the Pied mont Council will be honored in being given the opportunity of ex hibiting at the National Training Conference of Scout Executives at French Lick, Ind., during the com ing week, material prepared by the Piedmont Council Scouts for the National Jamboree which was to have been held at Washington last summer but was cancelled because of the prevelance of infantile para lysis. A special request also has been made for the showing o’f the colored motion pictures of the Piedmont Boy Scout camp which is located at Lake Lanier, near Try on and regarded as the outstand . *Vng Scout camp in the Southeast. JF R. M. Schiele, Scout Executive of the Piedmont Council, who is serving on five major National commissions will be in attendance at the conference. Concert Good; Attendance Small The only rainy ni.^ht in many days prevented a large crowd from hearing a splendid concert Tuesday night given by the Spartanburg Male chorus at the Tryon school auditorium. Those who heard it were high in their praise of the splendid» performance of these South Carolina musicians. Tournament Tonight The first clash in the County Basketball Tournament will be held tofiight at the Tryon school gym at 7:30 when the Tryon high school boys play the Stearns high school boys and the Tryon girls play the Sunny View high school girls. Mrs. Jervey Buys Thos. Elder House The Thomas L. Eder residence on Lindcourt Drive, advertised for sale in yesterday’s Tryon Daily Bulletin, was sold today to Mrs. Rebecca Jervey, owner of Melrose Lodge. The residence is near the , Lodge and will be convenient for guests. Mr. and Mrs. Elder will return to New York on Sunday after their annual visit here. Mr. E’dcr came to Tryon several years ago for his health and the climate did so much for him in a few months that lie found it not neces sary to live here all the time.
