Duke Hospital Awards Made Charlotte, April 1.—A total of $76,799.65 was allotted to orphan ages and hospitals in Western North Carolina yesterday by trus tees of the Duke Endowment. Among the allotments were the following: Lyday Memorial hos pital, Brevard, $684; Mountain Sanitarium, Fletcher, $1,676; Pat ton Memorial, Hendersonville, $1, 225; St. Luke*s, Tryon, $1,500; Spartanburg Baby Hospital, Sa luda, $2,848. A total of $962,499.22 was ap propriated for hospitals and or phanages in North and South FOR SHERIFF I hereby announce myself a candidate for the nomination for Sheriff of Polk County subject to the rules of the Democratic pri mary to be held June 6th, 1936.
