C., UNDER THE ACT OF CONGRESS, MARCH 3, 1879 Try on Horse Show Arrangements Are Complete for Wed. Final arrangements had been )]mpleted today for Tryon’s annual • 'flcrse end Hound Show, which will be staged on Harmon Field on Wednesday, and indications were that the number of horses entered in the show this year would ex ceed that of any other year. The Hound Show will begin at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning and the first classes in the Horse Show will start at 10:30 o’clock in the morning. Horses will be shown in 18 classes during the course of the day. Some classes will be shown in the morning, but the majority of the events will take place dur ing the afternoon, when / events start at 2 o’clock. Judges for the show are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Grand of Green wich, Conn., who will judge the ^hunter and jumper classes, and Jcjfarry Thornton of Bradsville, Mly., who will judge saddle classes. Alex Parish, of Berea, Ky., will judge the classes for hounds in the morning. As ai preliminary to the show, the annual Hunt club ball will be held on Tuesday evening at the Oak Hall hotel, beginning at 9:30 o’clock. The Buccaneers orchestra of Asheville will play for the dancing. Bacon Announces For The Senate Former Senator Francis Pickens Bacon-announces in today’s Tryon Daily Bulletin his candidacy for the State Senate from this dis trict. Friends of Mr. Bacon have been urging him for several days to make the race. Mr. Bacon has been active in business, political and civic affairs. He is a former mayor of Tryon and former presi dent of the Chamber of Commerce. His opponents so far are Mayor John R. Burgess of Columbus and former Sheriff-Tax Collector W. Y. Wilkins of Tryon. Sacred Concert Tonight, 8 O’clock The famous Sunshine Trio of the Moody Bible Institute, Chica go, will render a sacred concert tonight at the First Baptist church at 8 o’clock. Some of the program features will be trios, duets, solo selections and musical readings. The people of Tryon are fortu nate in having this opportunity to ’ ear these noted musicians. The public is cordially invited. There will be no admission, but an offer ing will be taken. Mrs. Anna L. Henderson, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Alice R. Flentye, leaves today for Chicago.
