Depot Agent Wins
Prize for Neatness

Miller has just received a first
prize of five dollars for having the
cleanest and most attractive depot
on the Asheville division under
Trainmaster J. C. Morris. The
railroad is endeavoring to make
its property attractive to the pub
lic. In this connection it is inter
esting to note that the local office
under Mr. Miller doubled its
freight and passenger business
over last year. The railroad has
improved its service considerably.
A special department now supplies
customers with information about
hotels and points of interest; pas
senger cairs have been improved;
free delivery of express and
freight has been added at the local
office giving Tryon the very best
service of this kind.
Stevens and Conrad
Tie In Golf Match
C. H. Conrad and Stanford
Stevens tied for first place in the
flag tournament at the Tryon
Country club play off Monday. The
prize, a box of golf balls was
divided between them.
The ladies flag tournament will
be played Wednesday, and all
ladies of the community who are
interested in the tournament are
urged to enter at once.

of golfers in the qualifying rounds
at the Tryon Country club tourna
ment for the President’s Cup which
begins this week. Mr. Bacon’s
score was 84. Edward Sayre made
a score of 85. Stanford Stevens,

Flynn, 87; Dr. Bishop, 91; Julian
