Gosnell, 83, Passes Suddenly Chesnee, June 25.—M. C. Gos nell, 83, a native and life-long resi dent of the Green Creek section of ^°olk county, died at his home this Morning when stricken ot the Dreakfast table. Funeral services will be held Fri day afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Big Level Baptist church in the upper part of Polk county. The Rev. Henry Allman will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Woodrow Blackwell, Horace John son, Charles Williams, Luther Wiliams, Louie Gosnell and Harold Page. Honorary pallbearers: F. L. Hines, Eugene Fagan, J. T. Horn, Rome Horn, W. V. Wilson and Grover Green. Flower girls: Gladys Skipper, Elfie Skipper, Juanita Skipper, Catherine Page, Maggie Black well, Iva Blackwell and George ^Kosnell. J Mr. Gcsnell had been m lk health lor the test 10 days. He had been a member of the Baptist church for 53 years. Survivors are three sons, F. L. Gosnell, Spartanburg, Route 1; B. B. Gosnell, Chesnee, Route 2, and C. G. Gosnell, Campobello Route 1; five daughters, Mrs. T. E. Wil liams, Chesnee, Route 2; Mrs. Joe E. Page, Spartanburg; Mrs. F. G. » Skipper, Campobello, Route 1; Mrs. R. F. Blackwell, Greer, Route 2, and Mrs. Lee Cochran. Inman, Route 3; and a brother, Bill Gos nell, Mill Spring, N. C. Fifty three grandchildren and 22 great • grandcheldren also survive. Tryon Defeats Canton Canton, June 25.—Tryon got off to a five-run lead in the first inn ing here today and defeated the Canton Blues, 12 to 8, in an In dustrial league game. Capps led the winners at bat with four hits in six attempts, while Reno topped the Canton hitters with three for five. Baseball Saturday The Lynn Second Nine team will play the Campobello Indus trial League Saturday at Harmon Field at 3:45.
