And this thrill ripples backward to ) many others who have had a part in it—to Mr. Schilletter who is teaching her to swim; to the mem bers of the Country club who built the swimming pool and are help ing to maintain it. No member or donor of the Country club knows how much good his member ship or gift will be multiplied in the years to come. Hours of en joyment at tennis, golf, swimming and picnics have been given to hundreds of people who will never know of the sacrifices of time and money made by public spirited citizens to give the community this delightful recreation center. It is a living monument of faith in Tryon. Take your friends and guests to the Country club. Any community would be proud of it and it may impart to your guests )the same love and spirit that prompted the founders to build the Tryon Country club. * * sfc * The only objection I have to sending my clothes to Rector’s Laundry is when I put on a three year old wash suit just back' from the laundry and somebody asks, “Where are you going?’* or “Where have you been all dressed up?”. The first summer when the suit was new nobody paid any at tention to it, but that was before Rector installed all that expensive special machinery to iron wash suits, shirts and collars. He is an -Continued on Page Four Minister’s Wife Taken By Death Chesnee, July 21. — Mrs. Etta Reid Branscomb, 80, wife of the Rev. G. A. Branscomb, died this afternoon at her home in the Mel vin Hill section. Mrs. Branscomb, a native of Ohio, had been a member of the Melvin Hill Church of the Breth ren for the past 50 years. Funeral services will be conduct ed at the Melvin Hill Church of the i Brethren at 2:30 o’clock Wednes day afternoon by the Rev. Wl A. Reid. Interment will follow in the churchyard. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and flower bearers. Mrs. Branscomb is survived by three nieces, Mrs. W. W. Weber, Colorado, and Misses Mami and Nettie Fox of Ohio, one nephew, H. H. Carson of Lenoir, N. C. and ohe adopted son, Frank Branscomb, Spindale, N. C., in addition to her husband.—Spartanburg Herald. Forty Doctors , Are Attending Saluda Seminar Saluda, July 21.—Around 40 doctors have registered for the 16th session of the Southern Pedi atric seminar which opened Mon day at the sanatorium conducted here during the summer months by Dr. D.
