Campbell, one of Saluda’s most prominent summer residents, died this morning at 9 o’clock. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in ) Chester, S. C., on Thursday morn ing a,t 10 o’clock. A memorial service will be held at the Pres byterian church in Saluda on Sun day night, August 9. Mrs. Jones Mrs. H. L. Fite was called to Charleston, S. C., to attend the funeral of her aunt, Mrs. E. G. Jones, of Litchfield, Conn., and Charleston, S. C. Mis. Jones has visited Tryon in the rummer a number of times. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday. The body is being ship ped by airplane from Connecticut to Charleston. Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham of Spartanburg are spending the week at Smiley Mountain cottage in the Valley. ) Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Blackwell of Spartanburg are guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Buchanan. Bill Byers, Anson Merrick, Richard and Hoke Jacobs are at Fort Bragg Citizens Military Training Camp this month.
