Landscape Engineer Here On Friday There will be a joint meeting of Rotary, Kiwanis and the Garden club at Hotel Tryon on Friday, August 21, at 1 p. m., for the pur pose of hearing Mr. Brant, land scape engineer for the Nonth Caro lina highways, and the subject of Highway Beautification. Lunch will be served at 50c a person and reservations should be in by Thursday noon. Those who cannot come to lunch may come in at 1:30 and take part in the discussion. Both Legs Broken In Auto Accident A truck and a Chevrolet had a collision Tuesday night on the Landrum highway just below the entrance to St. Luke’s hospital driveway. The Chevrolet, owned by Crowder Ross, was completely wrecked but no one injured; the truck was only slightly damaged, it is said, but Moore, a colored man about 65 years of age, who was one of the occupants of the truck, was badly crippled. Both of his legs were broken in many places and he is now in St. Luke’s hospital. INDIAN PLAY TONIGHT Th? last Indian play of the season will be presented tonight at 8:15 at the Scout Camp. An hour program by 15 Boy Scouts under direction of Chief Blue Sky Eagle, presenting “The Quest of the Evil One ! ’. Public invited.
