Cream Route Opened Friday In Polk County Ccunty Agent J. A. Wilson stat ed this morning that the cream route established in the county yesterday got off to a good start. 24 gallons of cream were sold to the Biltmore Dairies. The aver age butterfat test was 27 per cent. The cream of J. S. Morris of Green Creek had the highest test —45.50 per cent. Fourteen farm ers were benefited by the sale and were paid sl7. Pete Gaines got the largest check—s3.4s. The Biltmore Dairies served ice cream to the farmers bringing cream. C. S. Case, representative of the creamery put in the new station at Columbus and made the first tests. The cream route will be made every Friday and all farm ers are invited to sell their sur plus cream in this way and make some extra cash on the farm. A SSO weekly cream route will mean $2,600.00 extra money each year for a few farmers. Back Home Maj. Alfred Huger has return turned from an extended visit to Asheville. His secretary, Miss Dora Rubin of Charleston, S. C., is the guest of Major and Mrs. Huger for several days. The Clevenger murder case in Asheville is sitll being tried in court. Negro Moore pleading not guilty. Jury may get case today. Rebellion in Spain still in full swing. Russia and France reported ly giving aid to th? government and Gm-manv and Italy said to be aiding Luc Rebels.
