Curiosity Kills Cat A farm hand in Wodly, Ga., re cently killed a rattlesnake in his yard and buried it in the sand. A few moments later a cat came along and began digging it up. The jaws of the dead snake clamp ed on the cat’s paw. The animal leaped into the air and was dead in a few minutes.—“ The Pioneer. Saul White, fibhing off Long Branch on July 12, had just hook ed a bluefish when an eight-foot shark leaped for it, missed and landed, sprang in Mr. White’s 22 foot boat. “It looked like a torpe do and it swished like a whale.” said Mr. White. He had no weap ons to subdue it so he waited prayerfully atop the engine house while it thrashed about, smashing the pump and timbers and threat ening to wreck the ship. Finally it battered itself into unconscious ness and Mr. White put for shore with a tale he’ll tell but nobody will believe. —Ex.
