Twenty-five schools and colleges will receive one or more of these students listed as follows: Miss Ruth Miss Betty Conrad and Harold Shelnutt at Duke Uni versity; Miss Lois Avant at Mere dith college in Raleigh; Miss Eliza beth Kei'hulas at Winthrop in Rock Hill, S. C., TUESDAY, SEPT. l\i 1936 Football Practice The Tryon-Saluda football team will open the season with its first practice on Wednesday, Sept. 16. At this time uniforms will be issued ?nd a light work-out given. All candidates for the team are urged to be on hand promptly at three o’clock. Workouts will be held at the school house for the present. The first game will be with Flet cher at Tryon on September 25th. This team generally furnishes the opening opposition for the local squad. Last season victory was by a single touchdown. During the next few days much work will have to be accomplished to whip a team in shape. The prospects for the coming season will depend largely how the reserves of last year turn out. The end positions will find Robert Green back along with Pearson, G. Foster and E. Foster. Tacklers will have to be taken care of by Homer Shields and Russel Holbert. Guards returning are Mutt Heath erly and Arthur Parker. The pivot position will be up to Henry Mc- Gee chy. All the backfield will be in barriers again, Blackwtell at quarter*, Staton at full, Jones at left half and Fox at right half. Besides the ones mentioned above there will be quite a few others out. All new men will be given a chance and opportunity. Hitler warns Reds to stay home. Army guards door of Reich, Fueh re * says. Tells democracies to mind own affairs. Germany will keep peace if full equality is recognized.
