He will speak on the Constitution. Dr. M. C. Palmer will have charge of the program. TRYON, N. C., THURS., SEPT. 17, 1936 News In Letters Thomas H. Coggey, formerly of Tryon, but who is now living with his son, Walter Coggey, in Ham mondton, N. J., renewed his sub scription today to The Bulletin. Mr. Coggey has been a continuous subscriber of The Bulletin ever since it started on Jan. 31, 1928. Mrs. George Abbott, who has been getting The Buletin this sum mer at Jackson, New Hampshire, writes that she has enjoyed The Bulletins very much, and that she would arrive in Tryon some time in October. Mrs. H. H. Parmelee writes from East Boothbay, Maine, to hold their Bulletins here as they were leaving Maine on Tuesday. They enjoyed keeping up with Tryon affairs through The Bulletin. Detroit Orchestra Leader Passed Away on Monday Ossip Gabrilowitsch, director since 1918 of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, died on Monday morn ing after an illness of several months. Public funeral services were held Wednesday. The great director, who was also a composer and lecturer, was born 58 years ago at St. Petersburg, now Lening grad, Russia. He was one of this country’s most noted musicians, and the many Detroiters living in Tryon will regret his passing. Ho married Clara Clemens, daughter of the late “Mark Twain” in 1908.
