A message from L. G. Harkness
Smith from Boston on Saturday
stated that he and the President
had arrived in Boston about the
same time, but that the President
had gotten more publicity than he
did. Mr. Smith also sated that
the trip North was rough but satis
factory and that he dodged the
hurricane by a few inches.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Edwards
are the parents of a son, Samuel
Lewis, born Monday afternoon at
home.
Warrington “Bo” Preston, who
is teaching in South Carolina is
here on vacation during the cot
ton picking season. The first day
here he got a job at McNeely’s
Cash Store for the vacation period.
Miss Rebecca Hoskins has re
turned from a visit with her par
ents at Summerfield. Her little
sister, Miss Eleanor Graham, age
5, accompanied her for a visit in
Tryon.
Allen Jervey has returned to
the Charleston Medical college at
Charleston, S. C.
