The speaker reviewed briefly the many changes in Europe since then and brought up for consideration the present state of affairs all over the world where rapid changes are taking place even in America where revolution can only be pre vented by evolution. Major Arthur L. Smith of Washington, D. C., was present and gave an interesting resume of his military manuevers this sum mer when his corp of officers con structed a bridge for war test pur poses and escaped all accidents ex cept for poison ivy which was so severe that several officers had to go to the hospital and one of a major’s eyes was closed. Carroll P. Rogers reported on the interesting inter-city meeting held last week with the Green ville, S.
