Tryon Ties Strong Hendersonville 6-6 The Tryon-Saluda football team battled the strong Hendersonville team to a 6 to 6 tie yesterday afternoon at Harmon Field. Both teams played a strong, rugged de fensive game with the Tryon-Sa luda boys having a slight edge in the first half. Neither team scored until the last quarter when Hen dersonville pushed over a touch down and failed to make the ex tra point. Not to be beaten the local team opened Sp with a strong offensive and ran and passed over a score with Staton scoring on a play over left guard. The extra point was checked when a pass was attempted. Both teams showed flashes of individual brilliance with Fox, Jones, Staton and Blackwell in the Tryon-Saluda backfield running, passing and tackling well. Green was the outstanding man in the line, doing all the things that a good end should do. The whole line charged well at times but did not shew the consistence that they have before. Hollingsworth, Crowder, and Brothers were the Henderson ville team’s best ground gainers. The game was witnessed by one of the largest crowds ever to see a football game in Tryon. The Tryon high school band, under the leadership of Pat Garnett, made its first appearance and helped add to th° occasion. The next game on schedule will be with the strong Biltmore team here next Friday. THE BULLETIN- $1.50 year.
