FOOTBALL
The Junior Tryon football team
will kave today to meet the
Greenville- team of Judson Mills,
another Y. M. C. A. team. This
will be the second game of the
season for the locals. The first
game was lost by a large margin
to Greenville but the play of the
Tryon squad in the second half was
very good. Last Saturday, Green
ville defeated Rock Hill Y by the
score of 39 to 0. Today, the Try
on boys will be without the ser
vices of C. Ford, who turned in a
brilliant game at end in the last
contest. The following boys are
making the trip:
Hall, Vining, McFarland, Tay
lor, Green, Eaton, Thompson,
Beatson, Ballew, R. Ford, L. Gos
nell, Hilton, Justile, Chapman and
Blackwell.
The varsity football team had a
hard practice yesterday in prepar
ation for their game with the
strong Waynesville team on Fri
day. This game will be played in
Waynesville and promises to be a
great battle between two rugged
lines. The Waynesville team has
lost only one contest during the
season and that to the Asheville
High team. In order to give the
local fans as much football as
possible during the short season,
negotiations are under way to ob
tain a team here for an Armistice
Day game, next Wednesday, Nov
ember 11th.
