When Lady Nancy Astor came to Tryon and spoke at the Parish House, the building was packed, and Postmaster W. H. Stearns, who lives across the street in front of the Parish House, didn’t take advantage of his proximity to get a good seat. He had to stand up because he let a lot of people from Asheville, Soartanburg and other places go right by his door and beat him to all the seats. The same thing may happen at the Ruth Draper performance on Sun day afternoon at 3 o’clock. A lot of reservations have already been made by people in Asheville and elsewhere. Miss Draper’s perform ance is a great attraction for New \York, London and the large cities 7of the World. It is unusual for a town the size of Tryon to have the privilege of hearing her. It is a treat all Tryonites with $1.50 can enjoy, but if you are planning to attend the performance make ycur reservations as soon as pos sible so that as many local people who want to can get a good sea f . The performance is for the benefit of Tryon. The fact that this noted woman will entertain us is enough, but thpt she will donate the pro ceeds to Tryon charity through courtesy of her host, Mrs. M. B. is indeed a double gift to the community. “Read A Good Monning News -naper” The Asheville Citizen. “Gets There First^. /Delivered to k your door, 20c perVweek.
