Dear Seth,
I never think of Tryon without
being overpowered by a huge yen
to return.
I am starting a trip around the
world which will last nearly a
year and it would be difficult for,
even your versatile Bulletin to fol
low me. We have spent the past
3 weeks motoring thru England,
Ireland and Scotland and at the
moment are crossing the North Sea
to Copenhagen. From there to
Norway, Sweden, Finland and
Russia; thence back thru Poland
to Germany and Austria, south to
Switzerland. Italy, Greece, Egypt
and the Holy Land then thru the
Suez to India, Ceylon, Siam, Java,
Bali, China, the Philiippines, Ja
pan, Hawaii and home. Does it
make you envious? It really
should prove a glorious and proft
able adventure. The boy I am
with, Thomas Joy, of Detroit, is

Robert Parham
Robert Parham, 56, an employee
cf the Southern Mercerizing Co.,
died last night at St. Luke’s hos
pital where he was taken after a
sudden illness yesterday. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 2
p. m., at the Second Baptist
church. Burial in Tryon cemetery.
The deceased is survived by his
wife and several children.
