Waynesville Defeats
Tryon-Saluda Team
The Tryon-Saluda team lost its
first game of the season to the
championship Waynesville team by
| the score of 33 to 0. The local
beys played a good game during
the second half and held the strong
champions to a single touchdown.
Waynesville playing alert and ag
ressive ball took advantage of the
Tryon-Saluda miscues to score 26
points in the first half. Three
touchdowns came as the result of
fluke passes. The Tryon-Saluda
boys after getting the feel of the
ground held their own and in the
fourth quarter passed and bucked
the ball down to the six inch line.
A bed pass from center caused
the ball to be lost. Thel work of
Waynesville was of the highest
order, their blocking and tackling
being the best seen in high school
circles this season.
Next week the entire squad of
players will see action, three games
being on schedule for football
h week here at Tryon.
" Tuesday: Tryon-Saluda B team
vs. Hendersonville B team.
