FRIGIDAIRE Is Always At the Top McCown Speaks On Planned Economy Attorney M. R. McCown who is chairman of the Rotary-Kiwanis joint committee on Civic beautifi cation and chairman of the Ki wanis committee on Good Citizen ship, started an interesting discus sion at the Rotary club Fr'day noon which was continued over to next week. His subject entitled, “Planned Economy” asks the ques tion, wouldn’t it be better to con solidate all Tryon’s civic and charitable drives for funds and make one big campaign for enough money to care for the various civic needs of the community and elim inate so many drives to raise funds. The subject is very inter esting and the Bulletin will take the discussion up again on Monday. An apportunity of a life time is being given Tryonites to hear Ruth Draper on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Tryon’s Theatre. Tickets are on sale at Missildine’s. Card of Thanks I wish to express my apprecia tion to all the friends and voters who supported me for the office of County Commissioner in the recent election. Although I did not get elected, I wish to pledge my support to all officials working for better government, and will do all I can as a citizen to make our county a better place in which to live.
