C., SATURDAY, DEC. 5, 1936 To Install County Officers on Monday \ Polk county will join the other 99 counties in a state-wide in stallation program Monday morn ing beginning at 9:45 at Columbus courthouse when the state officers from Governor on down will be sworn in office and the ceremonies will be broadcast over the radio. Avant Electric Co., will furnish a radio at the courthouse to re ceive the state program. Imme diately after the county officers will be sworn in by Clerk of Court John A. Arledge. Chairman W. S. Green of the County Executive Committee will be in charge of the program. C. E. Thompson of Sa luda is chairman of the County Board of Elections. Tb.e county officers to be sworn in are Grover C. Feagan, chairman of the Coun ty Board of Commissioners; W. D. Hines, sheriff; C. W. Ballenger, of deeds; G. W. Pearson, coroner; W. G. Green, surveyor. Also a number of justices of the peace and township constables. The public is invited to witness the event. Senator F. P. Bacon and Rep resentative T. J. McDowell will be the new legislators to represent Polk county in the General Assembly. Chairman C. E. Thompson of the County Election Board states that over 800 high schools in the state have been invited to ilsten in on the proe-ram which will be educa tional as well as governmental in nature. ; At t\\z QlJjurcJjps CATHOLIC—St. John’s church.
