Mr. Niven has made many friends during his stay here and already thinks of Tryon as home. He had to leave in such a hurry that he requested The Bul letin editor to tell his friends goodbye and to thank them all for being so nice to him while here. Mr. Niven has promised to be the Hollywood corresnondent of “the world’s smallest daily newspaper.” Mrs. Butler Wins Prize Mrs. Archie P. Butler won the attendance prize at the Duke Power Co., At Home Party on Th l ' sday afternoon. The prize San attractive Pin - It - Up . A large crowd attended the ■sy and was served cake and coffee. Mrs. K. A. Bowen and Miss Mary Morgan assisted as hostess es. James A. Chapman James A Chapman, prominent mill executive and churchman of Spartanburg, and father of Mrs. Nelson Jackson, Jr., of Tryon passed away this morning about 10:30 following several weeks ill ness. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Spartanburg at the Presbyterian church. TRYON, N. C., FRIDAY, DEC. Dec. 24—Kiwanis distribution of Christmas baskets. Dec. 25—Presbyterian Christ mas tree program at 4:30 p. m. Dec. 25—St. Agnes Guild dance at Parish House. Dec. 26—Dance at Biltmore Dec. 27 SUNDAY.
