Plans will be discussed tor carrying on the work. Prince At Kiwanis Hoyt 0. Prince of Landrum will be the chief speaker at the Tryon Kiwanis club on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hotel Tryon. The new presi dent, K. A. Bowen will be in charge of the meeting. BAPTIST WOMEN The Baptist Women’s Mission ary society will meet at the home of Miss Daisy McFee on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Mrs. Lloyd Bolinger will be in charge - v <i the program, and the' meeting be presided over by the new ■‘president, Mrs. George Logan. Noted Guest . Mrs. Brand Whitlock, widow of the late war-time ambassador to Belgium, has arrived in Tryon from New York and is a guest at Mel rose Lodge. Mrs. Elizabeth Craven also of New York, is a guest at'the Lodge. New Club Cover Contract for a new roo£ at the Tryon Country club has been let to Montgomery and Crawford. The roof will be of composition mater ial and in beautiful colors like the one covering the Sunnydale cabin TRYON, N. C., MONDAY, JAN. 4, 1937 IN THE MAIL Miss Eloise Leßeau of Lansing, Mich, renews her subscription to the Bulletin and writes that Dr. Anna Starring, of Pasadena, Cali fornia., formerly of Detroit, and a frequent visitor to Tryon, had passed awav a few days ago. J. E. Doidge, a Canadian car penter, skilled in cabinet making and interior woodworking, who made*Tryon his home for many years, renews his subscription to the Bulletin from Spartanburg; S. C. where he is now making his home for the present. The Bulletin is now going to Senator and Mrs. F. P. Bacon at Raleigh. The Bulletin has been attending the North Carolina Gen eral Assembly at every session for the past nine years. The JournaHs'm class of the J. M. Vogt High School, Ferguson, Missouri is sponsoring an exhibit of Newspapers of the Wond and requests a copy of the Tryon Daily Bulletin. A school teacher at Las Vegas, New Mexico writes Miss Mae I. Flentye, “Thanks so much for the little papers (Bulletins). We all enjoyed them including the editor of our daily paper and my English classes.” Our request for copies of the Dec. 21 issue of the Bulletin was so thoughtfully complied with from one end of the United States to the other that it makes an overloaded editor feel happy that so many fri ends of the Bulletin were conside rate enough to mail their copies fromßuffalo, N.
