Divorce Is Granted Hendersonville, Jan. s.—Brown low Jackson, of Hendersonville, former United States marshal for the Western North Carolina dis trict, was granted a divorce from his wife, Mrs. Lizzie May Jack son, on the grounds of two years’ separation in Superior Court here Monday afternoon. Asheville DISMISSED FROM HOSPITAL Mrs. Helen Bassford, of Tryon, N. C., and Wilmington, N. J., who was injured when struck by an automobile on East Main street Monday night, was dismissed yes terday from the Mary Black hos pital, where she was confined over night.—Spartanburg Herald. HEADLINES President Roosevelt addressed Congress Wednesday and asked for a more liberal interpretation of the U. S. Constitution. Congress passed an emergency law prohibiting the shipment of airplanes to Spain,,but not in time to catch a boatload already out side the three-mile limit.
