He is survived by his widow, three daughters, an two sons. His parents reside in Winter Park, Fla. His father, J. A. Bishop, was with him at the time of his death. TRYON, N. McClure, Jr., is the new president of the American Forestry association. H. B. Kelly of Oak Hall has been re-elected vice-president and cashier of the State Trust Co., at Hendersonville. It is Burnette & Burnett at the Rotary club Friday. 1 p. m., at Oak Hall. R. C. “Dick” Burnette the gas man has cnarge of tne program, and Rev. C. P. Burnett will be chief speaker. Mrs. Grace Coolidge has been granted a $5,000 yearly pension by Congress. She is now making her home with Mrs. F. B. Adams at Northampton, Mass., while Mrs. Adams’ new home is being built near here. Rev. D. M. McGeachy gave a very inspiring talk on courage, sincerety and consideration at the Tryon Kiwanis club, Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. They are qualities appreciated by all men everywhere. J. E. Bropvnlee had charge of the program. Basketball Friday In the first game with a county team for the season, the Tryon high boys and girls will meet Sunny View. All games with county teams are close and hard fought and will be interesting to watch. The Sunny View girls’ team gen erallv rate among the best in this section.
