Weinberg Kingstree, Jan. 24. —Lester Stanley Weinberg, 43, for many years district agent of a life insur ance company here, died today. J The funeral will be held tomor row at Sumter. Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Claudia Jones and a daughter, Mary; six brothers, Dir. Milton Weinberg and Dr. Abe Weinberg of Sumter, Bertram Weinberg of Columbia, J. A. Wein berg of Wasington, Leon Weinberg of Manning, Julien Weinberg of Manning, and three sisters, Mrs. Jerome Brandeis of Philadelphia, Mrs. Nettie Geiger of Manning and M ss Irma Weinberg of Sumter. —Spartanburg Herald. No Kiwanis Tuesday On account of a Joint meeting with the Rotary club on Friday at 1 p. m. at Oak Hall hotel there will be no Kiwanis meeting this Tues k /!ay. G. N. Lowden, a representa tive of the Federal government G- Man service will address a joint meeting of the Rotary and Kiwan is at Oak Hall. Any Kiwanian de siring to bring a guest with him should notify the secretary, Seth M. Vining as soon as possible in order that the hotel may be noti fied of the approximate number of plates to serve. Miss Maggie Hill Misa Maggie Hill, of Saluda passed away today noon at St. Lukes hospital following a linger ing illness. She was a sister of Mrs Mack Thompsan. TRYON, N. C„ MONDAY, JAN. Fletcher Burnett The Sunday Charlotte Observer published the announcement of the engagement of William C. Bur nett of Tryon to Miss Carrie Belle Fletcher and also printed an at tractive picture of the bride-elect. The announcement is as follows: Os interest to society in North and South Carolina is the follow ing announcement: “Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Fletcher of McCall, South Carolina, announ ce the engagement of their daugh ter, Carrie Belle, to William Cling an Burnett of Tryon and Char lotte, North Carolina. Miss Fletcher has made her home in Charlotte for the last few years, where she is a teacher in the city schools. She is quite popu lar with friends in this city and McCall. Mr. Burnett is the son of Rev. and Mrs. C. P. Burnett of Tryon, but makes his home in this city, where he is a popular business man. No date has been set for the wedding. Learning To Freeze R. H. Brady, secretary-treas urer of the Avant Electric Co. has just returned from Atltnta, Ga. where be attended a several days convention of the Frigadaire Corp. and learned five more important points about the - better way of making ice and o reserving food.
