R. Rector of Tryon to Mr. Marion Brock, son of Mrs. Julia Brock of Tryon and grandson of the late Senator J. C. Fisher. The wedding took place on Saturday afternoon in Spartan burg at the Manse of the Second Presbyterian church with the Rev. J. D. Henderson officiating. The young coupla w"ere high school sweethearts for several years and both were graduated from Tryon High Schol last year. The groom holds a responsible position as salesman for Rector’s Laundry where he has been for a number of years. For the present Mr. and Mrs. Brock are making their home with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fisher. J. T. Hutchinson h? Landrum, Feb. 7.—John Thomas died at his home here this morning of a lingering illness. A native of Polk County, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Raines Hutchinson. He is survived by his wife, two sens, Joe and Burton Hutchinson of Landrum, and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Blackwell of Thomas ville, N. C., and Mrs. Eva Hyder and Mrs. Maude Henderson of Landrum. Funeral services will be conduct ed at the home of Mrs. Hyder at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. C. B. Prince, pastor of the Landrum Baptist church, and the Rev. J. S. Lyons. C., MONDAY, FEB. 8, 1937 Edwards Hilyar Miss Alice Edwards of Mill Spring and Mr. Myron Hilyar,Jr. of Deerwood, Minn, wer? married Saturday evening at 7:30 at the Mill Spring teacherage by the Rev. D. M. McGeachy, pastor of the Tryon Columbus Presbyterian churches. The teacherage was beautifully decorated with ever greens, ferns, lighted candles and baskets of carnations. Miss Clara Edwards, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Mr. John L. Ed wards was best man. Miss Irene Edwards played the wedding mu sic. Just before the ceremony, Mrs. J. Robert Foster sang “At Dawn ing” and “I Love You Truly”. Im mediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Minne sota where the groom is in busi ness with his father. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Edwards. A graduate of A.S.T. College at Boone she has been a member of the Mill Spring school faculty for a number of years. <gyi What Do You Think? A lot of discussion has been go ing on about the President’s pro posal to reorganize the Federal Judiciary. On Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Hotel Tryon at the Kiwanis meeting, Attorney M. R. McCown, a close student of the constitution, will discuss the proposal. Anyone desiring to be at the . meeting should notify the Secretary Seth M. Vining.
