The Colored »ourt for Troop No. 2, Tryon will held at the Colored School im mediately after. Scout Executive R. M. Schiele will preside at both places. Scout Service Sunday The Annual Boy Scout sermon was preached Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at the Tryon First Bap tist church by the Pastor, the Rev. L. J. Keels, who emphasized the chcaracter building qualities of the movement. Dr. George Farrand Taylor gave a brief history o Scouting, Vice-President Nelson Jackson, Jr. of the Piedmont Boy Scout Council told of the work of Scouts in the Council, and Scout master W. A. Schilletter expressed the need for leadership in the •out Movement here and gave a ief account of the work in Tryon. The Tryon Scouts were dressed in uniform and gave the Boy Scout cath. A vocal selection was ren dered by Miss MaTgie Blolinger with Mrs. Keels as accompanist. Mr. Eugene Turner, Y.M.C.A. sec retary, who leaves today for China, dismissed the congregation with prayer. Today’s Headlines Two. brothers, Everett and Deiter Fortner were arrested by Sheriff Irvin of Sparta Sunday night to be questioned concerning the murder of 16 year old Elva Brannock, TRYON, N. C., MONDAY, FEB, 15, 1937 Mrs. Teriza Page Landrum, Feb. 13 Mrs. Teriza Page, 63, wife of Joe Page, died at the home of her nephew, Daniel Bryan, at 5:30 o’clock this after noon following an illness of five weeks. Mrs. Page was born and reared in Spartanburg county, the daugh ter of the late C. C. and Francis Johnson Cantrell. She was a mem ber of the Landrum Wesleyan Methodist church. Surviving are one son, Paul Page; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Lance, both of Arden, N. C.; two brothers, Earl Cantrell, Greenville; V. V. Cantrell, Landrum; and two sisters, Mrs. S. J. Jarrett, Biltmore and Mrs. J. J. Bryan, East Flat Rock, N. C. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Landrum Wesleyan Methodist church with the Rev. R. G. Cudd officiating. —Spartanburg Herald No City Delivery Tryon doesn’t have city mail del ivery. The new green mail box in stalled on Saturday in front of the Post office was put there for the convenience of people who want to mail letters at night after the outer door of the Post office is closed. Postmaster W. H. Stearns states that the mail will be collect ed only once a day, at 8 a. m., just to get the mail that has! been de posited during the night. Lieut. Gov. R. E. Price of Div ision One of Carolina Kiwanis will make an offical visit to the Tryon Kiwanis club on Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Hotel Tryon.
