B. Flynn: March 22: Hounds leave kennels at 10:30. Meet at Trash Pile. March 24, Wed. leave kennels at 2:30. Meet at Lower Culbreth Place. March 27, Friday: leave kennels at 10:30. Meet at Block House. March, 29, Monday: Leave kennels at 10:30. Meet at Hoot’n Owl Hollow. March 31. Steeple-chase and Hun ter Trials April 3, Saturday. Hounds leave kennels at 10:30. Meet at Pea Patch. Many riders will attend the Caro lina Cup races at Camden, S. C. Peter A. Hendeson Spindale, March, 21 —Peter A. Henderson, 68, who died Friday at his home here after a long illness, was buried in Sandy Springs Bap tist church cemetery, Polk county, Saturday following funeral services at the church The Rev. T. M. Hester officiated Mr. Henderson is survived by his widow; one brother, Joe Henderson, of Oklahoma; one sister; three sons, Jessie Henderson, of Ruthe fordton, Clifford Henderson, of Spindale, and Calloway Henderson, of Shelby; and four daughters, Mrs. O. O. Hamrick, Spindale; Mrs. B. B. Scoggins, Forest City, Mrs. Clara McGuinn, of Spindale, and Mrs. Millard Hancock, of Greenville. S. C. -Asheville Citizen TRYON, N. C„ MONDAY, MARCH, 22, 1937 Local Boys Working With “Uncle Sam” Jim Brock has re-enlisted in the United States Army after nearly a year’s stay at home. He is now at Fayetteville and will leave Monday for New York where he will be joined by Burley Chapman of Tryon, who left Tryon today. U. S. Navy headquarters issues the following press notice: Horace Edwin Early who was accepted for enlistment at the U. S. Navy Recruiting Station, Ashe ville, N. C. was enlistted in the U. S. Navy at Raleigh, N. C., on Mar. 17, 1937. He was transferred the same date to the U. S. Naval Training Station, Norfolk, Va., for a twelve weeks course of instruc tion. Upon completion of this in struction Early will return home on from a ten to seventeen days leave of absence. Upon his return to the Training Station, Early will be transferred to some ship of the U'. S. Fleet. Early is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Ransome Early of Route 1, Saluda, N. C. Prior to his enlistment Early was a member of the Tryon and Saluda High schools Books Wanted Perhaps the children in Tryon and those here for a short stay have magazines and story books they could give to other children living in the country. If so. they can be left at the Tryon Book and Paper Shop where Miss Washburn will receive them and send them out.
