LUNCHEON AT SUNNY DALE

Arthur Lincoln delightfully enter
tained the members of the Garden
club and visitors with a luncheon
at Sunnydale today at one o’clock.
The lovely, new log cabin, just
completed, was artistically decorat
ed with peach blossoms and greens.
A very interesting lecture on
‘“Designs in Southern Gardens’*
was given by Mrs. E. M. Gwath
mey of Converse college. Mrs.
Gwathmey talked mostly concern
ing garden designs with an Eng
lish background, illustrating with
many beautiful, familiar gardens.
Mrs. George Miller, the presi
dent, presided. One new member,
Miss Laura Peaseley, was wel
comed into the club. The nominat
ing committee represented by Mrs.
H. C. Metcalf, gave the following
report: President, Mrs. Frank
Crandall; vice - president, Mrs.
David Edsall; secretary, Mrs. C.
C. Curtis; treasurer, Mrs. F. P.
Bacon. The president announced
the club’s spring activities to take

Farmers of Polk county sold
2,393 pounds of poultry at the
fourth poultry shipment held on
Monday. For this the farmers of
the county received $347.92. An
other. shipment is plalnned soon.
