Methodists to Hold
Bishop’s Crusade
The Tryon Methodists will have
\ picnic supper Friday night at 7
, ..J’clock at the church. All mem
' bers are requeisted to bring basket
lunches. At 7:30 immediately fol
lowing the supper, a radio mes
sage from Bishop Moore will be
heard on a 30-station broadcast.
Following this program a pageant
will be presented in the interest
of the Bishop’s Crusade for Mis
sions. 500,000 Methodists have
been asked to join in this pro
gram all over the south. Mrs. R.
L. McNeely is in charge of the
Tryon program.
Court of Honor
The regular monthly meeting
of the Boy Scout Court of Honor
was held in the Parish House.

Meeting opened with prayer by
Rev. D. M. McGeachy, followed
with the repeating of /the Scout
Oath, led by Scout Executive R.
M. Schiele.
Scout Commissioner Dr. George
Taylor, who presided over the
meeting, made some very pleasant
comments on the good looking
group of Scouts present in full
-uniform.
Then the business of the meeting
proceeded as follows:

TRYONSCHOOL
FINALS SLATED
The Tryon school will close on
May 17, according to an announce
ment by Supt. W. A. Schilletter.
The program of commencement ac
tivities has been completed and
preparations are under way to
provide interesting and entertain
ing exercises for the school patrons
and many friends of the Senior
class. Eleven Seniors are expect
ed to receive their diplomas on
graduating night.
Dr. Joseph R. Sevier, president
of Fassifern school, will make the
commencement address on Monday
night, May 17. Dr. C. Arthur
Lincoln will preach the baccaleur
eate sermon to the Senior class.
This sermon will be preached in
the school auditorium on Sunday
night, May 16. All churches in
the community will be asked to
dispense with their evening ser
vices on this night iso their mem
bers may attend the union service
at the school. The high school
chorus will sing several special
selections at this service.
Diplomats will be presented to
the Seniors at the graduating pro
gram by Mr. Nelson Jackson, Jr.,
chairman of the School Board. The
names of the Seniors finishing this
year are as follows:
