MASONS MEET The Jeff L. Nelson Masonic Lodge will hold regular communica tion tonight at the lodge hall over Missiidine’s Pharmacy. Visiting Masons cordially inivited. Miss Lois Avant, student at Meredith college and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Avant of Try on, has just been elected Senior Marshall and a member of the stu dent government council at Mere dith college for next year and on Saturday she attended a convention of student government officials at Greensboro. Meredith is one of the outstanding women’s colleges of the south and it is a honor to hold an executive position in the stu dent government. Mrs. S. T. Wood has moved to anartment in the home of Mrs. John L. Jackson. from Lefty Flynn saying “goodbye” as they sailed on the 23rd from New York for England. A daughter was born Saturday at St. Luke’s hospital to Mr. and Mns. C. F. Felts of Florida. Daylight Saving Time is in effect beginning today in many of the larger cities.
