Dance At Sunnydale The fourth public dance of the summer season will be held Fri day night at Sunnydale Log Cabin with Tenny Freck Orches tra furnishing the music. Amos N, Kunkle’s Nephew Drowned Amos N. Kunkle, of Lynn, re ceived word today (Thursday), that his nephew, Kenneth Goodin, had been drowned at the; Carolina Beach. The communication receiv ed follows: “Just to let you know that Ken neth Goodin was drowned at the Carolina Beach on Monday after, noon. His body has not been re covered to date. Will let you know later about other arrangements. “E. B. Goodin and family, “East Main Street, “Lincolnton, N. C.” Rotary Anns To Be Entertained The Tryon Rotary club will hold a “ladies’ night” meeting on Fri day night at seven o’clock at Sunny dale Log Cabin at which time the Rotary Anns (wives and sweet hearts) will be guests of the club. President F. P. Bacon will preside over the meeting which promises to be one of entertainment. SAVIN GASOILS 1. Progress comes when thrifty ! farmers care for fertile lands. 2. The farmer who lets his soil erode is stealing from his children and grandchildren. 3, Probably no nation ever wasted its soil resources as rapidly r/e are wasting ours. 4. It is estimated that the loss of fertility from soil erosion is about twenty times as great as from crop removal. 5. The conservation, of soil is a primary requisite for the con tinuance of human life.
