Governor Clyde Hoey has ap
pointed J. Wallace Winborne and
Judge M. V. Barnhill to the State
Supreme Court in accordance with
a new law passed by the last legis
lature.

Nurses, Home Open
The Gertrude Holbrook Hardin
Memorial, nurses home, at S(t.
Luke’s hospital will be completed
on Friday, June 18th. Miss Edna
Calvert, the superintendent states
that friends of the hospital who
may wish to visit the nurses’ home
may call between 11 a. m., and 5
p. m.. on Friday. A guide will be
provided for the friends who may
want to inspect the new building.
The Memorial is the gift of Mr.
and Mrs. James C. Kimberly.
Trout! Trout! Trout!
R. B. Williams, Polk County
Game Protector, states that the
following number of rainbow trout
has been put in the streams of this
county: Green River Cove, 40,000;
Fall Creek, 40,600; Pacolet River,
°O,OOO, making a total of 110,000
fish. They were brought from the
State Fish Hatchery at Marion.
He also stated that the speckled
variety of trout would be put in
at a later date.
At Kiwanis
The Tryon Kiwanis club met
on Tuesday evening at 6:30 at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Eger
ton in Mill Spring. The dinner
was served by the ladies of the
Methodist church. The chief
speakers were Agriculture Engin
eer Feagan of Clemson college and
County Agent Stalworth of Spar
tanburg who gave an outline of
the opportunities for improving
farm life by using engineering
methods. Judge J. J. Gentry was
in charge of the program.
