N C., Teachers, Students, Gome Under the Social Security Students or teachers who take vacation jobs this summer as waiters, musicians, counselors in summer camps or engage in any other employment' not specifically excepted by the Sbcial Security Act are workers within the mean ing of the old-age benefits pro visions of the law, Graham Martin, manager of the Asheville office of the Social Security Board said to day. “Both students and teachers who engage in covered employment dur ing the summer must obtain Social Security Account Numbers. Ap plications for such numbers may be obtained from, thcf nearest post or from a Social Security BoardK office. The information called for on this) application form—22-s—is necessary to insure a proper wage record will be established for the applicant. The information will be held confidential,” Mr. Martin said. “A wage record is kept through out the life of the individual work er until he reaches the age of 65 and retires to receive monthly old age benefits. To qualify for old age benefits a worker need not be emp’oyed continuously.
